Should warn right away: speaking about Forester I forget about objectivity and become biased. I like this car! And the point is not in its design, not in technical characteristics - though they are magnificent. It is like among millions beautiful girls to find the one and only… I have already found my car, it's Subaru Forester!



Forester has been created under the motto "the Best among two elements". From motorways up to impassability Forester is designed for the pleasant and confident driving. Presenting to it one of numerous awards the Association of Journalists and Experts has formulated its opinion this way: this car "has the ideal size of the body, is convenient in driving and provides a high level of safety while running". It can't be said better!
The first Forester has been made in 1997. It has combined with the best qualities of the classical SUV, ideally combines the qualities of an off-road car improved by system of safety, rally car's dynamics and controllability, the highest characteristics and comfort. Originally Subaru Forester was packaged with the two-liter petrol engine with capacity of 115 h.p. Since 1998 Forester began to be equipped with the new turbo-charging engine which capacity can exceed 300 h.p. It is offered two types of gear boxes: mechanical five-step and automatic four-step. Body face lifting has been made in 2000. Forester has received new back lamps and new radiator guard.
The second generation of Subaru Forester model has been presented in 2002 on a motor show in Geneva. And Subaru Forester 2006 has been presented in 2005 on the Frankfurt International motor show. New model's appearance has undergone some changes and improvements. Besides a new bumper, a radiator guard, the enhanced fog-lights and expressive forward and back lamps designers of the company have given new shape to a cowl and lateral fenders. Characteristics of Subaru Forester 2006 also have considerably changed. And in December, 2007 the premiere of the new Subaru Forester took place - but we'll talk about it later.
Subaru Forester's pride - is its branded all-wheel drive system. From a light, compact horizontally-opposite engine with the low centre of gravity to transmission and back differential the system is located in the direct line along the car's body. It is an original branded all-wheel drive system - Subaru Symmetrical AWD. Owing to excellent lateral weight distribution controllability and stability of the car is considerably increased. Exact and sensitive control and the confident adhesion of wheels, are significant advantages of this system.
Active headrests of Subaru Forester's front seats, unique for cars of this class, are established in a combination with side airbags. Front airbags are established in front of the driver's and the passenger's seats. ABS, perfectly combined with a full drive, provides a high level of the brake control on any road covering.
